Hi, We have moved back to Hungary after 18 years in the UK. The Hungarian counterpart requested a E104/S041 to prove the years of NI paid in the UK, however the form came back with only the years when my wife worked, not including the 10 years when she was looking after the kids. The NI record on the HMRC website shows all the years as "You have contributions from National Insurance credits: 52 weeks These may have been added to your record if you were ill/disabled, unemployed, caring for someone full-time or on jury service." Is there a different document to be requested to report these years also as NI contributed? Thank you.

Hi,
The type of credits awarded for periods when your wife was looking after your children, are not required for the purposes of an E104/S041 certificate, and that will be the reason that they have not been included on her certificate.
If your wife requires proof of how many qualifying years she has, and details of the information held on her National Insurance (NICs) records, she can request a statement of NICs.
To do this she will need to complete a CA3916 application form which can be found here - Get a PDU1 certificate or a National Insurance contributions statement
Thank you.
