Hi, I completed my 2022/23 self assessment online in October 2023 and elected to voluntarily pay class 2 NI of £168.20. This is showing in my Personal Tax Account as being paid. However my National Insurance record still shows this year as not full and being investigated. Last week I called the helpline 0300 200 3500 and was advised that it will take up to another 6 months to show. Looking at other threads on this forum the advice is up to 8 weeks from payment. I have already been waiting for 13 months!

Hi,
The referrals created for the allocation of class 2 payments, are currently taking 29 weeks to process.
The 8 weeks you reference are the class 3 payments, in which a different process is followed.
We need to make sure the payment is not held on your Self-Assessment record and has been correctly transferred onto your National Insurance record, to do this
please call us on 0300 200 3500 ,once the payment has been transferred the 29 week processing time starts.
