I live abroad and recently retired from full time employment. Post retirement I remain of a landlord of two properties in the UK which I will continue to receive rental income. I have owned these two properties for more than 10 years and have included the net rental income (property income less allowable expenses) in my annual UK tax returns. This rental income is my main source of income in the UK. Can I continue to pay Class 2 Voluntary Contributions? Thank you.

Hi Dav Chng,
We are unable make decisions on entitlement to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions by this method of communication.
We would, however, suggest that you read our leaflet NI38 ‘Social Security Abroad’ which you may obtain here:
Social Security abroad: NI38
Then if you wish to apply to pay voluntary contributions then complete our CF83 application form here:
Apply to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions when abroad (CF83)
Thank you.
