Voluntary Class 2 National Insurance Contributions - If Non UK Landlord with 2 properties
I am a non resident landlord of 2 properties located in the UK. These properties are currently rented to tenants via a property agent in the UK who markets and manages the properties for me. Do I qualify to make voluntary Class 2 National Insurance contributions? -
Voluntary Class 2 Contributions if retired but remain a landlord of 2 properties
I live abroad and recently retired from full time employment. Post retirement I remain of a landlord of two properties in the UK which I will continue to receive rental income. I have owned these two properties for more than 10 years and have included the net rental income (property income less allowable expenses) in my annual UK tax returns. This rental income is my main source of income in the UK. Can I continue to pay Class 2 Voluntary Contributions? Thank you. -
Can HMRC change your National Insurance Number without informing you?
I am a international student and have been studying medicine in the UK for 5 years on a student visa. This March I applied for my National Insurance Number from HMRC which I have since received (in the form of official letter from HMRC). I have graduated and received an offer of employment from the NHS. I have used the National Insurance Number for my job application including certificate of sponsorship. I have converted my student visa to a Tier 2 visa and just received my Tier 2 Visa (Health and Social Care) from UKVI. I noticed my National Insurance Number in my visa was not correct and called UKVI who informed me to contact the Department of Works and Pension or HMRC as my National Insurance Number has been changed to the one they have. Is this possible? Please advise what I need to do to clarify the situation. As far as I am aware the National Insurance Number I recevied back in March was exclusive to me and cannot be changed. -
Voluntary Class 2 Eligibility Letter - Request for Employment History Abroad
I submitted the Form CF83 back in September 2023 to pay voluntary class 2 NICs from abroad. At that time the estimated timeline for HMRC to revert on my application was 48 weeks. In early January 2024 I received a Voluntary Class 2 Eligibility Letter - requesting for my employment history abroad. I have responded with relevant information by registered mail and got confirmation that my registered mail was received by the HMRC at the end of January. Will the clock be reset on my application such that it will be another 48 weeks from end January 2024 that I get an outcome on my application?
