I am 60 this year and plan to retire in April 25. I will have 37 years NI contributions. I plan to live off savings for 7 years until my state pension kicks in. Will I have to continue paying NI contributions until I reach 67 (state pension age) ? And do I need to inform HMRC about my decision to retire?

Hi Ralphus,
To check whether you have a full entitlement to the UK State Pension or if you need to think about paying voluntary National Insurance contributions, may I suggest that you obtain a State Pension Forecast.  Details of how to do this may be found at the following weblink:  Check your State Pension forecast
Thank you.
