I have been chasing why my new state pension is low. Rang HMRC and was informed that I have three separate periods that show contracted out deductions. During my last employment before retiring I had two previous pensions added to the last one and when I did this the pensions authority made all three contracted out. I contacted my first employer and was told during those years I paid full Category D contributions, contacted the latter and was told that as a matter of course when pensions were amalgamated into one they made them contracted out. I now have written confirmation that I paid full contributions, during 1988-1994 surely I can reclaim the missing years. Hope this makes sense. Any advice will be great

Hi eizzil
Unfortunately, you will need to contact the Contracted Out Pension Helpline (COPH) with your enquiry
Thank you.
