My NI record showing that "Year is not full" (details: We are checking this year to see if it counts towards your pension. We’ll update your record when this is finished, you do not need to do anything.). May I know when will they finished the calculation and allow me to pay for the voluntary contribution? Any impact as if it start the next tax year (24-25) after 6 Apr 2025?

Hi Chun Yu Yip
This notification appears when your Personal Tax Account (PTA) identifies a gap in your National Insurance record that might be addressed with a class 2 rate payment.
Please note that your PTA can only calculate rates at class 3 and therefor displays this message.
This message will remain until the gap is resolved.
If the tax year in question is prior to 2019-20, you will not be able to make a payment after 5 April 2025.
For assistance regarding this gap and any potential payments, please contact National Insurance helpline on 0300 200 3500.
Thank you.

Sorry, so you mean that the page will not update at all until I found other way to pay the contributions (bypass the system)? I tried to contact 0800 731 0175 and 0300 200 3500 and found no way to access someone for advice. Any other way to access the department to get the 18 digit numbers and calculate the amount to be paid for the voluntary contributions?

Hi Chun Yu Yip,
Once you have made a payment and the tax year is full, your Personal Tax Account will display it as being full.
You’ll not be able to make a payment through your Personal Tax Account.
If you can not get through to National insurance on 0300 200 3500 you can try using the webchat function to talk to an adviser.
You can also enquire about making voluntary payment by writing into us at
PT Operations North East England
HMRC
BX9 1AN
Include your NINO, full name, address, and the details of your enquiry.
Please sign and date your letter even if you type and print out your letter.
Thank you.

Thanks for your advice. Per your advice, I made a call finally (waited for an hour) and got the 18 digits and the calculated amount from staff (she is very helpful). I also made the payment via online banking. So, we just need to wait for update from the system to confirm everything went well.
