To qualify myself for state pension, I need to work a few more years after retirement age, can I continue to pay voluntary contributions for that purpose?

Hi OpentoLearn,

Voluntary National Insurance contributions are not payable from the tax year in which you reach State Pension Age.  It would not be worthwhile to continue to pay as they would not improve your pension entitlement.
If you would like to check your pension entitlement please visit:  Contact the Future Pension Centre or call them on 0800 7310175 (if in the UK) or +44 191 2183600 (if overseas).

Thank you.

i mean as a self-employed, can i work beyond 67-yrs-old and contribute to NI, so that the number of contributing years reaches the 10 years minimum limit and get state pension around 70? or is it not possible to contribute after age 67?

Hi OpentoLearn,
When a person is employed or self-employed in the UK they are liable for National Insurance contributions until the state they reach State Pension Age.
After this date you may still work or be self-employed but you would not pay National Insurance contributions any longer.
Thank you.
