Kindly asking what the current wait / backlog is please? It shows 15 days when submitting. It's of course not 15 days so what is the current backlog & why is the realistic date only shown after application? It should show the 15 + week backlog wait to avoid late applications no? Thanks, Mike

Hi Mikeuk92,

If you submitted your CA3822 application online, the current timescale is 15 weeks.
The area who will process your application are currently dealing with work received on 03/05/2023.
Unfortunately, without checking your personal records I am unable to see what position your application is at.
Further investigations may be required and that could be a reason why it hasn’t been processed within 15 weeks.
You can contact our helpline and we will be able to check your application and give you a more detailed response.
The contact number is 0300 200 3500 (+44 19 1203 7010 if calling from abroad) lines are open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Thank you.

I submitted a CA3822 form online in November and was advised I would have a response and certification in 40 days. With this information, we then moved out of the UK and began the process of preparing the rest of the documents for my visa application. The rest of the documents are now ready but we have heard nothing back from HMRC since submitting the form and my online account says to expect a response in September 2024! This leaves me and my family in a situation where we are running out of days we can stay here under the Schengen Law as we cannot apply for our visa without the documentation from HMRC we were told would take 40 days. As you can imagine we are in quite a difficult situation now with nowhere for my family to stay in another country while we wait for HMRC to issue these documents. Please can you advise if there is anything that can be done?

Hi, I submitted my form at the beginning of October, got sent a letter before Christmas asking for copies of invoices, duly sent and received on 2nd Jan, still waiting and like others, running out of time on the 90 day rule. We should all sue the HMRC for all costs involved in moving back to UK and waiting for the form......

Hi, I recently submitted for my CA3822 form under the knowledge that my company had already received eligibility via CA3821. I just found out they only requested eligibility yesterday. I know eligibility for the company to receive CA3821 is a lot quicker than the wait time for CA3822 so my question is: Is it okay that I submitted my CA3822 before the company received CA3821, even if they will have it by the time my application for CA3822 is even processed? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes, it is ok that you have submitted the CA3822 before your employer submitted the CA3821. This will not stop your application from being processed.

Thank you.

Hi, I have submitted a CA3822 form on 21st Oct 2024 and received an email saying that I would be contacted within 15 working day. No contact was made. I phoned today to check the status of my application just to be told that is a 8 weeks timescale now for a reply but this timescale can also fluctuate. Can anyone be more specific and let me know if there is another way to contact/check the status of my application, please?

Hi Kerensa,
It is not possible to view the completed application form CA3822 once it has been submitted.
You can check your application by contacting HMRC by telephone or you can submit a new application and advise in an attachment that the new application
supersedes the previous application.
Thank you.
