I lived abroad 2014 to 2022 in Europe. I now live and work in the UK. HMRC have confirmed in a letter I can retrospectively pay Class 2 NICs for the years I was abroad, and they have confirmed the amounts due for each year 2014 to 2022. 2 questions: do I pay to 08-32-20, 12001004 as per the website, or do I pay to 20-20-48 30944793 as I was told on the phone? And how do I show which year I wish to pay - I only want to pay for 1 year 2021-2022? Thank you

Hi NatG,
The correct account to make your payment to is the account shown on the gov.uk website -
Pay Class 2 National Insurance if you do not pay through Self Assessment: Make an online or telephone bank transfer - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The reference number you should use for your payment would be, your National Insurance number, followed by IC then your surname and initial.
To make sure your payment is allocated to the correct year, you can either contact the National Insurance helpline or write to HMRC to advise them which year to allocate your payment to. Please see contact details below:
International Caseworker EU Department

Thank you.
