I paid on line, from the HMRC website, for some years of National Insurance on March 5th (2025). My records have not been updated and its three weeks later. It is supposed to only take 3 to 5 days according to the receipt. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. Paid on the 3rd of March. A reasonable sum of money which leaves me nervous. It was from an Irish account. Trying to get confirmation that they've received has been difficult.

Just tagging on this as I paid £6,260.75 on Friday 7th March for missing years and they're still showing as incomplete - I'm obviously concerned as it's a lot of money and whilst I have the direct bank transfer information I haven't received a receipt and want to know it's all OK and that HMRC has my money and allocated it accordingly. I'll await response from the moderator and keep an eye out. Many thanks.

I rang the HMRC National Insurance phone number a week ago. It took 30 minutes of waiting because they are very busy. The person on the phone was helpful and said he could see my National Insurance account and that the money was in it. He said it could be up to eight weeks. But, I wish HMRC would post on their National Insurance webpage how much time people who pay on line will be waiting as it still say 3 to 5 days. That's why I am a little worried.

Hi Vincent Ryan,
Class 3 payment made through your pension forecast can take up to 5 working days to allocate.
If you paid class 3 voluntary contributions in any other way such as a bank transfer or cheque, it could take up to 8 weeks.
You can confirm these timescales here:
Pay voluntary Class 3 National Insurance
They are in the overview section towards the bottom under the after you’ve paid sub header.
Thank you.
