I have 2 separate employments. Both are just under the class 1 threshold so I have no credits towards my state pension. If I write to the NI office and ask them to amalgamate both of them together, are they able to obtain a credit for me? It seems very infair that I woud have to pay over £800 for a year's credit whereas someone earning less than me but from 1 job, would get credits at zero cost.

Hi,
The income from all employments will be included in your overall earnings factor.
Further information about National Insurance thresholds can be found here:
Rates and allowances: National Insurance contributions
You can check what your shortfall would be for years where you have earned below the Earnings Threshold by checking your Personal Tax Account.
