Hi there, I applied for an A1 certificate that I need for my digital nomad visa application. I applied on the 14th september 2023 and on Nov 29 2023, received a letter from HMRC asking me to give extra information (a signed statement in which I state I wish to stay within UK social security legislation whilst working abroad). I sent the signed statement by post the next working day to the address on the letter (that is what it said to do on the letter). I need to know when I can expect a reply. I applied in September for this document because I will go to Spain in January and I have absolutely no idea about when I can actually get the form after sending this requested information back to HMRC. I need to know and applied far enough in advance that I shouldn't still be waiting for this document that if I don't have, will render all my other documents useless and I won't be able to apply for the visa I need. I have tried to call through to the helpline, but haven't had much luck. Please let me know what I can provide here to you to help get this solved. Thank you.

Hi Alfie,
Without checking your personal records, I am unable to confirm if the further information you have provided has been received, you can check this by contacting the National Insurance contributions helpline (0300 200 3500 or +44 191 2037010 if calling from abroad).
The current timescale for the department who will receive your letter and process your application is 44 weeks. They are currently working on post received on 8 March 2023.
Thank you.
