Hi, looking for some advice on correcting a payroll for 2022/23 that also affects 2023/24. Basically, an employee left company part way through the 2022/23 tax year, however client did not inform us and we continued running the payroll as normal and into the 2023/24 tax year. Only now we are have been informed that they left. The employee was not paid after they left. We need to correct the 2022/23 payroll for them leaving and also the 2023/24 tax year. I can deal with the 2022/23 by rolling back the periods and then putting in leaving date and running an Additional FPS. However in the 2023/24 where figures were reported for the employee that left the prior year., would my 2022/23 correction get picked up or should I us Basic Tools for all of this.

You would have to file a revised FPS for 2023-24 as well. Correcting 2022-23 won't alter 2023-24.

Hi jcgillies,

You would need to correct the error in the software that sent the submission so if incorrect information was reported in 23/24 you will need to correct this year as well as the previous.

Thank you.

Hi Thank you for the responses. Kind of what I was thinking just wasn't so sure.
