We have received a notice to say we have underpaid PAYE but the PAYE amount on the letter / in our online tax account does not match that on our submitted FPS. I have phoned the number on the letter and was told by the lady who answered to phone the employers helpline. No matter what I tell the computer lady on the helpline she tells me I cannot speak to an advisor. The online chat tried to give me payment methods, how to access my personal tax calculation, how to set up a new employee, all sorts of things but no chance to speak to an advisor. How do I get to speak to someone about our employers PAYE account?

Hi Christina,
If it was yesterday that you called there was system issues.  At other times the lines may be busy however it is indeed possible to speak to the employer helpline on 0300 200 3200 you could perhaps use the phrases "underpayment" or "potential disputed charge", or "dispute liabilities" to summarise your issue.
Thank you.
