how many years PAYE number has been valid? or not expiration date?

I have an enquiry, could you please tell me what to do if I want to check whether the PAYE number is still valid or not. Our office had a PAYE number and used it as an employer, but we have not used it for a long time. So I am wondering if this number is still valid. Does the PAYE number have an expiry date if there has been a long interval? If there is a HMRC website where I can check this by myself, please let me know.
