Tax on interest on a new Isa

I transferred £20k from a regular savings account to an Isa in January 2024. Is the interest earned Apr23-Jan24 tax-free or only that earned between Jan-Apr 24?

Only that interest generated within the ISA is tax free, so from April - January is taxable.
