I have in mind to leave a legacy in my will to a charity registered in Poland, approved and listed on the official governmental register of charities(has a KRS / registration number and tax number) From the information on www.gov.uk it is not clear to me whether inheritance tax relief can be claimed ONLY on gifts to charities REGISTERED and OPERATING In the UK or can inheritance tax relief also be claimed on gifts to a charity that is registered in Europe and is on the official list of charities registered and approved by that particular European government. Please advise which is correct. Thanks
