WILLS and GIFTS
I am writing my Will I want to leave a legacy of, say, £10,00 absolute to my grandchild. Is this legacy a normal GIFT from my Estate subject to the 7-year taper relief? If yes then what is the start date? Date of the Will, date I decease, date the legacy is actually given / paid to my grandchild? Thank you for your answer. Jerry -
transfer of funds to UK from sale of property in EU
I am domiciled and resident in the UK. I have sold my flat in EU, declared the sale to HMRC, paid the capital gains due in the UK and EU I now want to transfer to the UK some capital from the sale. What, if any, additional tax I will have to pay in the UK on the capital I transfer from EU to the UK Will appreciate your comments / advice
