Hi I would like to ask if I could get partial paid tax refund on the amount remitted during tax year 2021-22. I heard that under the new rules of spring budget 2024, a non domicile UK resident doesn’t need to paid any taxes on the remitted income during first 4 years. I arrive in UK at Jun-2021. Does it possible to get paid tax refund? Thanks for answering.

Hi,
The new rules only apply from 6/4/25 and you will therefore still be under the current rules so no refund is due.
Thank you.

Hi Thanks for answering. I just read through the gov website and said that the following: “Existing tax residents, who have been tax resident for fewer than 4 tax years and are eligible for the scheme, will also benefit from the relief until the end of their 4th year of tax residence.” I arrived at 2021/Jun, am I also benefiting from the relief?

Thanks. May I know if I would claim the tax refund after the spring budget 2024 is effective on 6/4/25?

Hi samsamsss

The new rules come into effect on 06/04/25 and you would need to check at that point to see if you meet the conditions.

Thank you
