Hello, I am a UK citizen who is now a resident in Germany. I have an NI number. Before I left the UK I already had an ISA which I still have. I also have some savings (zero interest) in a UK account. I wish to consolidate this money and create a new savings account, within the UK, with better interest. In this instance what must I do in terms of declaration with HMRC? The interest I would generate would be under the tax threshold. Thanks.

Hi, Non of the options on this link are relevant. I am a UK citizen with money in my UK current account (held since being a UK resident) I reside in Germany but would like to move the money from a UK current account to a savings account. Is this allowed? What is required? I have tried calling but am cut off due to long waiting times Thanks Hugo

Hi Hugo6788,
There is no tax consequence in this and it would depend on the bank. you would need to discuss with them.
Thank you.
