Hello, I am an EU national (pre-settled) and have recently graduated from university and I am still looking for work. I receive about £2000 per month from a parent who lives in the EU for all my living expenses (rent, bills, council tax, food etc.). Do I need to pay tax on this?

Hi k-00c,

There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax.
Further guidance can be found here (Tax on savings interest and Tax on dividends).

Thank you.
