Hi all, I'm due to be made redundant shortly. My total redundancy payment will be less than £15,000. I work for a company as Paye Do I have to tell HMRC of my redundancy and complete a tax return or will the employer submit all this information (non taxable redundancy payment and normal taxable income)to HMRC? Thank you.

Hi

Your employer would normally do this and ensure the payment is not taxed.
However, if they tax it, you will need to proved evidence and a copy of your employment contract for any refund to be considered.

Thank you
