Hello I am a member of a public pension scheme and I am affected by the McCloud Judgement. As such I am due back pay of my pension which will be delivered as a lump sum plus interest minus my tax rate (40% in my case). How is this income treated for the purposes of Adjusted Net Income which is used in the eligibility for The High Income Child Benefit Tax Charge and for the abatement of the personal allowance for incomes about £100,000? The back pay is for the last 5 years but is all coming in one go in this tax year.

Thank you but they specifically cannot talk about the tax implications of the McCloud judgement. Is there a better contact?
