I have been made redundant for the second time from the same employer. I have used up some of the £30000 tax free allowance but have no record. I am also told my employer does not keep records back to when first made redundant. How do I find out my current tax free allowance? This will affect my choices to minimise tax

Hi,

You will need to contact HMRC to access your record.

I contacted the helpline. They told me they did not keep records back to 2011 when I was last made redundant from this employer.

Hi IanJordan

The £30000 tax free limit is per termination, as long as you meet the criteria for redundancy pay. Please see Redundancy: your rights

Thank you
