Hi, I have never lived in the UK ( and do not have a NI number) but I am a director of a UK company. I am a citizen of Norway and currently reside in Portugal ( and report income in both countries). I assume that I need to use the P85 form to apply for a NT tax code, however I am being requested for a NI number and can not proceed without this. Can you kindly advise what the correct form is to request a Tax code ? Many thanks, Miriam

Hi
The P85 is not applicable as this is for when you leave the UK.
To apply for a NINO see- Apply for a National Insurance number.
Further guidance is at Tax on your UK income if you live abroad
Thank you.
