Changing date of address change in Personal Details

I was having issues with my address when I created a goverment gateway account as it listed an address that I had never lived in before and said I couldn't change my address as there was an overlap in the dates. I solved this issue by saying I had moved in much later than I actually had. However, I don't know how to change the date back to the actual date that I had moved into my current residence and haven't been able to get through the phone lines to talk to someone to help.
