Hi, I have a Help to Buy ISA which I had opened many years ago but maxed the bonus that I would get from the government. Last financial year, I therefore decided to open a different Cash ISA for which I added money into. I did not exceed the £20,000 yearly limit collectively. Is this allowed? If not, what is the best way to rectify this? The Cash ISA account is currently frozen whilst awaiting further advice from HMRC. I tried contacting via telephone but didn't get much support. Would be so grateful for the advice. Thank you.

Hi,
If you have not paid into the help to buy ISA in 23/24 then you do not need to do anyhing as you have not exceeded the 20k limit and only deposited into 1 account.
Thank you.

As mentioned in our response of 23 of June 2024; "If you have not paid into the help to buy ISA in 23/24 then you do not need to do anyhing as you have not exceeded the 20k limit and only deposited into 1 account".
Thank you
