Higher Rate Child Benefit Charge

Hi My wife recently cancelled our child benefit payments since I earn over the threshold for paying it all back. My tax code for this year (23-24) currently takes these payments into account so my personal allowance has been reduced as expected. Now that we've ceased receiving payments will my tax code return to normal for the remainder of they year and will this happen automatically?
