I moved from northern Ireland to Ireland to work for one year. I worked in Ireland, paid tax on my employment income and contributed to pension in Ireland. I have moved back to northern Ireland after finishing my one year work in Ireland. I am planing to move my savings over the last one year to my bank account in UK . Do I need to pay tax again on this giving that I have already paid tax in Ireland on my income? Thanks

Hi ,

No.

Your savings arise out of your income received and taxed in Ireland, in a tax year you were not tax resident in the UK.

Any interest arisign from those savings, will be taxable and should be declared.

Thank you .
