Good day, I am a tax resident of an EU country namely Croatia, it is my permanent place of residency. I am a UK citizen. At the age of 55 I "would" be entitled to withdraw 25% of my work place pension tax free. As I am a tax resident of an EU country, will I still be able to withdraw the 25% entitlement tax free, or will it be subject to tax in Croatia? Croatia has a double taxation agreement with the UK. Many Thanks, Dave

Hi David,
Article 17(2) of the UK / Croatia tax treaty covers pensions
2015 Croatia/UK double taxation agreement
Confirms that a lump sum payment from UK pension scheme, is only taxable in the UK.
As this is still a UK pension provider, you would still qualify for 25% tax free lump sum.
This will be something your pension provider can explain in more detail.
Thank you.
