Paying tax on work wellbeing budget

Hi, My employer has given us an annual £100 wellbeing budget on top of our individual training budget but I have to pay tax on the wellbeing being budget if I use it so I only get around £65 of the £100 I spend. Is this right? I thought the employer would have to pay the tax on this, not me.

The tax due on the income would be paid by the individual.
