Hi, I have recently moved to the UK in May 2023 and am now a UK resident. I am employed by an overseas employer with annual income in the band of 40% tax rate. I intend to file self-assessment for tax return purpose for 2023/24 year. My question is if I put money into private SIPP pension account now, then will I get automatic tax relief via my pension provider, or will the tax relief be reflected in the self-assessment? Thank you.

Hi

As your payments are made direct by you, any relief will be calculated through your self assessment return.

Thank you
