I own 1/3 of a holiday home. Can I gift my share to a relative but still use the property as the guest of the other owners so long as I am not there more than 2/3 of the year and not have my gift count as one with reservations for inheritance tax purposes?

Hi

If you gift the property someone other than your spouse or civil partner, you may be subject to capital gains tax on the disposal.  Whether you can still use the property is not a tax  matter.  It is up to the properties owners.

Thank you
