I received at least one PPI refund in 2019/20. I am unable to find the necessary paperwork and have been repeatedly cut off when calling HMRC and being on hold at length - the last time I'd been on hold for over 54 minutes. I really need help with this and the HMRC digital assistant was of no help. What can I do?

Hi EmmaV13,

If you don't have the paperwork you will need to contact the company you received the refund through.

Thank you.

The company is no longer in operation as PPI refunds have finished. HMRC have taken the tax, and I'm not liable to pay tax due to my circumstances, and I am unable to contact the HMRC to discuss this because the phone lines just keep cutting out, sometimes after a considerable period of time waiting on hold.

Hi Emma Venturi,

If you are unable to get the information you won't be able to make the claim. The details are not stored on individual records.

Thank you.
