Hi, I am UK tax resident. I have a life insurance policy in Hong Kong that pays an Annual Dividend and a "Coupon" once every two years. Assuming that the Coupon is in the nature of returning some of the premiums I have paid into the policy over the years, do I have to pay UK tax on the Coupon? If so, will the Coupon be classified as dividend in the self assessment form? Thank you.
