I recently sold some of my company shares built up through SIP and variable pay performance shares, I would like to put the proceeds into my SIPP. Can I do this? I paid tax on the SIP shares on purchase and when the performance shares vested. Thanks

Hi,

Yes, but to claim tax relief, only to take you up to your threshold of either £60000

or your annual earnings, whichever is lower .

Thank you .

So are they classed as allowable earnings for tax relief? If I earn X + the share proceeds this year can I get tax relief up to all or just up to X? Thanks

Hi D629597,
The actual sale of the shares is not earnings unless they are part of your P60 income.
Thank you.
