I immigrated to the UK from Hong Kong in November 2022 through the BNO Visa scheme. As I understand, I am now considered a UK tax resident. My only sources of income are: 1) A pension from the Hong Kong government. According to Article 17 of the UK/Hong Kong double taxation agreement indicated that this income is not taxable in the UK. 2) Interest, dividends, and capital gains from savings and investments. This income is below the UK's tax-free Personal Allowance threshold of £12,570. Given my circumstances, do I need to complete a self-assessment tax return in the UK? Thank you.
