Born in England 1940 of an English born father. Worked in England until 1981. Worked abroad not paying Uk taxes from then. Arrived in USA in 1987 and started paying US taxes. Married a US citizen, became US/UK dual citizen 1994. Did not surrender Uk citizenship but did. send passport to Uk embassy (Washington dc) for safe keeping. Arrived in UK December 18th 2023 for family visit. How many days may I stay before I have to start paying Uk taxes?

Hi

You would be classed as UK tax resident if staying more than 183 days in the tax year.

Thank you
