Hi, I'm a skilled worker visa holder in the UK, originally from Mexico. A family member in Mexico sold their house and would like to gift me a bit of money from that, which I would like to receive in my UK account. They have already paid all the taxes for the house sale in Mexico and the money that they want to transfer to me is just a gift (around £50K). If they transfer from their Mexican bank account to my UK bank account, do I need to declare anything or pay any sort of taxes here? Many thanks

Hi,
No.  Cash gifts are not taxable.
Thank you.
