Hi. I am going to apply the BNO Visa and will go to uk for the house completion and handover from developer in Jan 2024 for a week. I am still working in Hong Kong and will end the employment in May 2024 then move to uk in June. Will I need to pay the oversea income tax starting from my trip in Jan 2024 for 2023/2024 tax year? I have booked airbnb during this trip. Is this no different for income tax in my position of a non uk resident (since no BNO Visa yet) or BNO Visa new immigrant (if i got the BNO Visa approved just before the Jan trip)? Kindly advise and thank you very much in advance.

Hi Kevinkk,
No, as you are only here for 1 week and not UK resident.
Thank you.

Thanks. Then if I got the BNO Visa in Dec, 2023 and have this one week short trip to uk in Jan, 2024, Should I use my HKSAR passport or BNO Visa to uk? I plan to move in May next year. Thanks.

Hi, would US-listed business development corporations have U.K. tax reporting status or would they be considered non-reporting funds and therefore gains would be subject to income tax?

Hi Jonathon,
Please have a look at the list of approved offshore reporting funds.  Approved offshore reporting funds
