Hi, I recently received three £100 late fines for filing my self assessments for the tax years 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 late. I do not understand why this is, as my business wasn't registered until July 2023, and hence I would have nothing to fill out on the aforementioned self assessments. I've appealed the fines, but still no response has been received, over a week later. It's worth also mentioning I've not been asked for these in the HMRC Message Centre. I've tried to check for any options to fill out these self assessments anyway, so they are submitted in the case I do need to pay these fines, but cannot find any. In fact, my HMRC login says I have no actions to complete. The only payment listed on my account is the tax overpayment from the most recent tax year to be returned to me, which is still pending after 3 months. Any clarification would be much appreciated, as I'm a student and unnecessarily paying these fines would be extremely inconvenient.
