Dear HMRC, My gross pay for tax year 2023/24 is £100840.08 and I paid £1000 to the private SIPP account (SIPP provider already claimed tax relief of £250 Tax statement) which makes my total adjusted net income £99,590.08. However HMRC tax statement doesn't reflect the SIPP pension contribution yet, do I need to do self assessment to inform HMRC of this SIPP contribution and also claim tax relief. Please advise if self assessment is required, if so can I do by contact HMRC via phone.

Hi Dev23,
You need to tell HMRC of any pension payments and this is why it is not on your statement.
You can contact Self Assessment here:
Self Assessment: general enquiries
Self Assessment is not required for the payment of £1000.
Thank you.
