I sold a house I owned jointly in December 2023 and paid the required tax within the 60 day window. I have a record of this tax payment. I am not a UK resident and I do not have any other UK income. Do I need to file a self assessment this year? It is unclear to me whether this question to determine whether I need to file a self assessment refers to income from a property sale or rental income from a property. 4. What was your total income for the year? Income could be from: your pension salary before tax and pension contributions any taxable benefits (such as a company car) property or investments I have seen similar forum questions that suggest I don't need to file a self assessment if I already paid the relevant house sale taxes, but I would like to confirm for peace of mind. I will then close my self assessment account.

Hi,
If you have no other reason to file a tax return, then no.
Thank you.
