Dear HMRC, I arrived in the UK on 12 June 2021 and was employed by the Hong Kong Government. All of my work was carried out in Hong Kong, and my last salary payout was on August 2021. As I am aware of the UK-Hong Kong Double Taxation Agreement, specifically Article 18, I would like to confirm my understanding regarding the 2021-2022 UK tax year. Given that the income in question was earned while working for the Hong Kong Government, and it was taxed in Hong Kong, is it correct that I do not need to declare or report this income in the UK for the Tax year 2021-2022? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards,
