Hello HMRC, I was self-employed in HongKong before I moved to the UK in 2023. After I moved to the UK becoming a UK resident, I still received about £2,000 in year 2023 as a whole which was the commission from my self-employment business in Hong Kong. I have already informed Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department and they have done an assessment and issued a tax return for me in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, I understand that now I also need to file a Self Assessment tax return in the UK. My question is what to do related to this income. Do I need to report this income to HMRC and pay UK tax on it? If yes, which forms should be filled out by me to tell HMRC about this income? Thanks!
