Hi, I was part of my employers scheme where the employer's contribution to my pension was via salary sacrifice and in addition, I also made the same amount of contribution to the scheme on top. My contribution was deducted from my salary before tax. I was a higher rate tax payer. In my pension portal I can only see a single employer contribution being made each month (which is the sum of mine and the employers (salary sacrifice) contribution). Can I claim higher rate tax relief through my self assessment or is this already accounted for as the pension contributions were deducted before tax?

Hi,
If the pension contributions were deducted from your gross pay before your tax calculated then you have already received the tax relief and does not need to be declared on your Self Assessment.
Thank you.
