Dear HMRC, Might I ask if any particular document(s) would be needed to claim foreign tax credit. For context I live in England but work for a Hong Kong employer for a job paid in Hong Kong. Would the tax assessment the Hong Kong government (Inland Revenue Department) and a receipt of payment suffice? Many thanks in advance! Warm Regards,

Hi 
Yes you can include this as evidence. when completing the return, the income and relief must be shown in sterling and you would show which exchange rate you had used.
