Can it be explained please what forms I require to fill in for tax year 2024/2025. I was classed as a non uk resident. I used to complete the self assessment form annually online but believe I should not do this now? I had no UK employment income, no pension income and no property rental income. The only UK based income received was from share dividends (over £10,000)! What forms do I have to fill in and provide to the HMRC? Thanks

Hi,
You need to complete SA100 and SA109 - Self Assessment tax return forms
Thank you.

Thank you. Can I fill both of these forms online via my gateway account or do I need to print the forms off, completed manually and post them to HMRC? Regards

Hi,
If you have a personal government gateway user ID and password, you can use this to register for a Capital Gains Tax account here:
Report and pay your Capital Gains Tax
Use the IS and password to log in a submit an online PPDCGT return for each disposal.
Thank you

Hi. Capital Gains Tax? Where has that come from? The question is about filling in a SA100 and SA109 form. Can both of these be completed online as a non UK resident for tax year 24/25, who has a personal government gateway use ID and password. Thanks

Not HMRC...HMRC seem to be having issues with replies to posts appearing on wrong posts...in answer to your question, you cannot file SA109 online via HMRC, therefore the whole return needs to be paper or you need to buy commercial software.

Thank you Clive. I believe you are correct both have to be paper returns. HMRC? Another question for HMRC please. HS300 form https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/non-residents-and-investment-income-hs300-self-assessment-helpsheet Is this required as well as both SA109 and SA100 forms, or just these two forms, HS300 not needed?

Hi JelVelo25,
No, not using HMRC software.
You will need to purchase 3rd party software or file the whole return by paper.
Thank you.

Hi JelVelo25,
You would still include the HS300 as additional income.
Thank you.
