Hi, I have full time employment in Hong Kong before coming to the UK and have quitted before coming to the UK. I arrived to the UK around Feb and have the only full time employment in UK since Feb til now. My employer in UK always pay my salary through PAYE and I have no foreign income. Do I need to fill in any form (e.g: SA100 and SA109). I have done the self assessment and base on the assessment result, I don't need to fill in tax return, however I saw on the internet that some people claimed that you have to fill in SA109 even if you have nothing to declare, is that true? If it's true, does it mean I have to fill in SA109 with an empty SA100? Thanks you!

Hi,
Split year treatment does not require a claim.
If you are eligible, it applies automatically and cannot be disapplied.
Thank you.
